Background: Patricio Acosta is the second eldest of the Argentine born Acosta brothers. He is considered by many as Mr.Sporting. He gave Sporting, back when it was an 8 sided recreational team, their first trophy. In the CSL 2005-2006 season, as captain, Patricio led Sporting to their 2nd trophy and promotion to the CSL 3rd division. He also took the club to countless runners up finishes. Ever since the 2006-2007 he has not been the same. He left the team after a discussion with manager Ed Romero. His departure cost Sporting the promotion that season. The two eventually reconciled and he returned for the second half of the 2008-2009 season. However the relationship only lasted 9 games in the 2009-2010 season. He is the clubs all-time assist leader and second on Sporting's top scorers list.
